Comprehensive School Counseling Program

Philosophy

The School Counselors of Gordon County Schools adhere to the philosophy that all students can be successful and that a school counseling program is an essential and integral part of the overall educational process.  A comprehensive school counseling program is predicated on the belief that all students are unique and dynamic individuals, capable of becoming responsible and productive adults.  School counselors work with all students, school staff, families, and members of the community.  The purpose of the school counseling program is to impart specific skills and learning opportunities in a proactive and preventative manner which ensures that all students can achieve school success through academic, career and personal/social developmental experiences.
