My name is Kelli Hayes De Guire, and I teach 9th and 10th grade Literature, SAT Prep and Creative Writing. I live in Calhoun with my husband, Dan, and three children, Sydney (24), Walter (20), and Bryant (19). Originally, I am from Trion, GA where I lived until my graduation from high school in 1986. While attending Berry College, I applied to be a summer missionary for the Southern Baptist Convention Board. I met my husband, Dan, on the mission field in Simsbury, Connecticut in 1987. We were married in 1988. After graduating from Valdosta State University in 1990, I became a Technical Writer for a software company in South Georgia. We eventually moved to Atlanta where I worked as a writer for various large companies, including Lotus, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, and the CDC. After September 11th, I began to feel a call in my life to do something more. I came to Gordon County Schools in the fall of 2003 as a teacher at Sonoraville Middle. I graduated with a masters degree in Adolescent Education from Kennesaw State University in 2007 and came to SHS in the fall of 2008.
My philosophy on education is that our children not only deserve the best knowledge they can receive, but they also deserve the best nurturing we can provide. I love knowing that my life is making a difference in the lives of others! |

Because I am a writer, my hobbies include reading and writing. I also collect lighthouses and love doing crosswords, when I'm not at a band concert or football game for one of my three children. My family attends First Baptist Church of Calhoun, and we are active in the choir and our Sunday School class.
