My thoughts on music education - find your voice and sing!

I am thankful that many years ago a music teacher found a music talent in me. I adore helping my students discover "their talent". It's important to realize  that each student in my classroom has a different talent. Some sing really well, others find greater joy in using their talent to help build a total sound for one of our groups. While, still others are enjoying the new Sibelius workstations to create our own music.
I know that I am a better teacher now than when I first began. I approach each year with a new set of goals and desires for our groups. Through a lot of work and the blooming of many new talents, we can achieve greatness. With each year, I feel that I grow as much as my students. I plan to be a continual learner and I hope that my students become continual musicians.

"We are what we repeatedly do; therefore, excellence is not an act but a habit".  - Aristotle
