Enrollment: Requirements for a child enrolling in school for the first time are:
Your child's doctor or health department can assist you with the medical requirements. Gordon County Schools require Proof of Address for admission. Attendance: When it is necessary for a student to be absent from school, the student must bring a written excuse explaining the reason for the absence. The excuse should include the days absent, reason, and the signature of the parent or physican. Students are expected to attend the entire day. Students must attend 1/2 of the school day to be counted present. An accumulation of five tardies (arriving after 7:45 am) and/or early dismissal (leaving before 2:20 pm) will constitute a day of absence as it relates to perfect attendance. Bus Dismissal Changes: Students needing to ride a bus other than their regular bus must bring a note and have it approved by the principal. Students should bring the note to the office before school for approval. Dress Code: Students shall dress so as not to disrupt the educational processes of the school. Parents will be called if their child's clothing is considered questionable, depicts tobacco, alcoholic products, or is sexual in nature. Dismissal: ALL students (bus, car, ASC) will be dismissed at 2:20 pm. Parents of Pre-K, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will pick up their child(ren) in the parking lot next to the pre-k building (where busses unload in the am).Parents of K, 1st and 2nd will pick them up in front of the school. If you have a younger child and an older child, the older child will come to the front of the main building to be picked up with the younger child. To avoid congestion and confusion in the building, PLEASE WAIT IN YOUR CAR for your child to be dismissed.
