 | Mr. Wayne Smoot is Ashworth's media specialist. He is a retired army officer and has been at Ashworth Middle School since 1994. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics from William Carey College. He has a bachelor's degree and master's degree in health and physical education from Jacksonville State University. He is also certified in special education and media at the masters level. Mr. Smoot received his Educational Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University in the area of administration. He has been named Ashworth's teacher of the year and his media program has won national honors. He was named the Georgia Library Media Association District 8 Media Specialist of the year for school year 2003-2004. wsmoot@gcbe.org |
Terry Overlander is the media specialist assistant. She has been working at Ashworth since 2007, she previously worked five years in Kindergarten at Swain Elementary and 5 years at Gordon Central High School in the Day Care. She graduated from Chenango Valley Jr/Sr High in New York and attended Broome Community College. She moved to Georgia in 1990. She is married and has three daughters (and now a wonderful son in law and soon a girl grandbaby! ), 2 cats and a turtle. |
