Hello

My name is Kim Cantrell and I am the Family Advocate here at Sonoraville Middle School.  I came to Sonoraville in November 2006 and have loved being a part of this wonderful community.

  It is my job as Family Advocate to work with both parents and teachers in trying to establish programs and practices that enhance parent involvement and reflect the specific needs of students and their families.In other words, schools and parents must work together to offer a quality education in a caring and nurturing environment for their students. .

  My goal as Family Advocate is to keep the communication line open to all parents all the time.  I am available during the regular school time hours to assist parents with any questions or concerns.  My office is open to any student during the day for clothing needs, school supply needs, or any other type of need a student may encounter. Parents are welcome to come visit our Parent Resource Room or get information about Community Resources available to you and your family.

  Daily attendance is a child's #1 advantage to keeping on track to a successful education.  When a student misses classroom lectures on a daily basis, they fall behind much faster and then feel as if they will never catch up.  If this is a problem in your home, please contact me immediately and we can discuss what the school can do to help you.
