  • Good Evening SES Families,

Picture proofs were sent home on Friday. We will have retakes on Mon., Sept. 13. Please let your child's teacher know if you would like your child's picture taken. A reminder that school will be closed on Fri., Sept. 17 for a Health Awareness Day.
We are continuing to practice having students wash their hands frequently, practicing social distancing as much as possible, and having the school disinfected daily. Remember if a family member is positive for COVID or a student is awaiting test results they must stay home from school. Please let our office know so the absence is coded correctly.
    Thanks for your support!

  • Good Evening SES Families,

We are exceedingly grateful for all that the members of our community have done in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic to limit the spread of the virus across our Gordon County Schools Community. Still, the risks from the pandemic remain. At Sonoraville Elementary, we continue to monitor health concerns in our school and the community daily with the well-being of our students and staff being our top priority.

As Covid-19 cases continue to rise in Georgia, it is critically important that we remain vigilant as numbers of students, staff and other community members report exposure to infected persons within their households and extended family.

At SES, we are continuing with many of our health and safety protocols which were put into place last year. We utilize enhanced cleaning of all rooms and buildings, continue to limit visitors, provide and encourage the use of hand sanitizer and masks, use seating charts, and spend additional time focusing on hand washing as well.

I know that is has been a long road, and many of us are experiencing “pandemic fatigue,” but it continues to remain crucial that we continue practicing preventative behaviors that help keep our communities safe.

    We encourage the following:
    • If your student is sick or experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, please
do not allow them to attend school or other social gatherings.
    • Please have plans in place should your student show symptoms of any
            illness.
    • We encourage the use of face masks to help prevent spread.
    • Please wash and sanitize your hands often and social distance in public when

            possible.

  • The supplies listed on the school supply list will be provided by the school this year. Teachers will also be ordering items that are typically on the donation list. Parents/guardians may want to provide a reusable water bottle (students can use our water bottle filling stations) and book bags. We can't wait to welcome our students back on campus in August!
