Mrs. Amanda Wallin
I am a 1996 graduate of Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia. I received my undergraduate degree in 2000 from Berry College in Rome, Georgia, where I earned a BS in Middle Grades Education. I earned a masters degree in 2007 from Lesley University in Technology Education. I completed my specialist degree in 2010 from Piedmont College in Teacher Leadership. This is my 14th year at Ashworth Middle School. This is my 21st year in education. I am a 7th grade World Studies teacher here at Ashworth. I have a son who will be thirteen in September. He is my pride and joy. When I am not teaching, I love playing and spending time with my husband and son. I also love the outdoors, as well as reading, and spending time with my parents and brothers. I love being a part of the Ashworth faculty and community. Over the next 180 days your child and I will spend our time learning to love learning. My Philosophy of Education "All children are gifted...some just open their package sooner than others."
Students you are about to begin an adventure that we will take together. Middle School is a time of change and new beginnings, new surroundings, new friends, new experiences, new skills, and new challenges. I am anticipating a wonderful year of learning and growth. I believe that students work best when they are placed in a comfortable, supportive environment. I will encourage you to take risks without fear of failure; placing much emphasis on my class motto, "Mistakes happen here…and that’s OK." My positive approach will help you develop strong organizational skills and orderly work-spaces. I will encourage YOU to become more responsible by informing you of guidelines regarding discipline, homework, and general expectations, all of which will remain consistent throughout the year.
