Mrs. Shannon Wyatt

Hello!  My name is Shannon Wyatt.  I have always lived in Gordon County and attend Gordon County Schools.  I graduated from Gordon Central High School in 1996.  I then decided to pursue a career in education.  I graduated from the State University of West Georgia in 2001 with my bachelor's degree in Special Education:  Mental Retardation.  After my first year of teaching, I decided to obtain my master's degree in Special Education:  Interrelated.  This is my eighteenth year at Ashworth Middle School.  Currently, I am the lead Exceptional Student Services (ESS) teacher.  I am teaching one 7th grade resource math class, and I am coteaching with Ms. Janice Mosley in 7th grade Math.  This is our fourth year teaching math together.

I have been married ten years to my wonderful husband, Nathan, who is an electrician at STR and a councilman for the Town of Resaca.  I have been blessed with two wonderful children.  Ryan is 21, and he graduated from Gordon Central in 2015.  Ryan obtained his residential wiring certificate from Georgia Northwestern Technical College in 2016.  He is employed by the City of Calhoun Water Department.  Rylan is 5, and she is in Kindergarten at Tolbert Elementary.  She loves singing, dancing, and playing with Barbie dolls.  My family and I attend Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Resaca, where I am the Sunday School Director and a Sunday School Teacher.  I love spending time with my family!

I am looking forward to another GREAT year at AMS!

Go Warriors!
