The Gordon County College and Career Academy's mission is to provide a viable 21st century workforce for the Gordon County community. Furthermore, the Academy strives to ensure our students graduate with skills that will provide them an advantage in obtaining the postsecondary goals they have set for themselves, whether they plan to attend a university, technical college, or go straight into the workforce. The apprenticeships, credentialing and networking opportunities students are afforded throught their coursework at GCCCA are invaluable in helping students become successful in these endeavors.
None of this would be possible without the vast support the Academy receives from business, community, and postsecondary partners. Since 2010, there has been an outpouring of support for the opportunities afforded students who attend GCCCA. In 2013, Gordon County College and Career Academy, along with Northwest Georgia College and Career Academy, was recognized by Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle for its work with Shaw Industries, and in 2015, the Lt. Gov.'s Business Partnership of the Year award was given to Mohawk Industries for its work with students at GCCCA. Since that time, the partnerships have continued to grow and prosper for the advancement of the programs included at the Academy.
We welcome any community member, business partner, or interested parents and students to visit us and see what we can offer to continue to improve workforce education for our community.
