Mr. Jeff Richardson

I consider myself a simple man with conservative values. I have been blessed with a thirty (+) year marriage to my soul-mate, have raised two great kids, have grand children, and several nieces (no nephews - yet). I have traveled the world as an instructor in specialized design with specific expertise in textile software and applications. It is my belief that any student can be successful as long as they have the desire to be. I am a lifelong learner and I hope to pass that desire along to my students.

Professionally, I have extensive knowledge and experience in mechanics stemming from my interest in motorized modes of transportation. I worked my way through college in the automotive repair industry, where I held certifications in drivelines and drivability as well as automatic transmissions; and in the Civil Engineering field as a surveyor. I received my Associates degree and worked for several years as an Engineer and Draftsman for Durkan Carpets and Cobble Tufting Machine company. While working in that field, I earned my bachelors in business and began a twenty year career in Graphic Design Instruction as a Software Support Manager for NedGraphics, a global leader in textile design software. I supported and taught their software on 3 continents and in in 8 countries. I never thought I would have those opportunities as a poor kid from North Georgia.

I got into teaching as a career at Dalton State College where I taught Engineering Drafting and Design. After that program was discontinued, I began at Gordon County Schools as their Graphic Design instructor. Outside of my professional life, I have volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master, The Girl Scouts of America as an Assistant Scout Master, teaching several Sunday School classes for various ages, as well as successfully raising my own children to launch well - which is my greatest acheivment by far.
