Mr. Bass

Mr. Blayne Bass is in his third year as Director of Bands at Red Bud Middle School and Assistant Director of Bands at Sonoraville High School.  Mr. Bass was born and raised in Clovis, New Mexico and attended Clovis High School.  Clovis High School is known across the Southwest as a powerhouse band program with a high standard of excellence.  In 2011, Mr. Bass earned two degrees from Eastern New Mexico University: Bachelor of Music Education and Bachelor of Music Performance in Trumpet.  During his undergraduate career, he performed with the National Intercollegiate Band sponsored by Kappa Kappa Psi in 2009 and 2011. He also performed in Seattle, WA with the College Band Directors’ National Association Band in 2011. 

In 2013, Mr. Bass earned a Master’s degree in Orchestral Music Performance from Georgia State University.  He was Principal Trumpet in both the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the University Symphony Orchestra while also playing in the Jazz Ensemble during his time at Georgia State University.  Since becoming a Georgia resident, he has performed with the Georgia Brass Band, Gwinnett Ballet Theater, and is currently performing with the Tara Winds ensemble. As a member of Tara Winds, Mr. Bass was able to play at the 2015 Midwest Band Clinic in Chicago, Il.   

Mr. Bass met his wife Lacey, a high school English teacher in Cherokee County, in August 2012. They were married in June 2014. The Basses make their home in Marietta, GA, with their daughter Blair born in July 2015.
