Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Karen Jones
Hello Parents, Students and Friends of RBMS. My name is Karen Jones and I am the Virtual At Home Learning Facilitator at Red Bud Middle. This is my 19th year in education in the Gordon County School System. I have worked with students of all ages including students in Pre-K, K, 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades. I have been at Red Bud Middle since it opened in 2014 and I taught at Sonoraville Middle School for several years prior to that.
In 1992, I received my Bachelor's of Science in Public Administration from Harding University. I then attended the University of Arkansas and received my Master's in Business Administration in 1994. After working in the business industry and then staying home for several years to care for my young family, I decided to pursue a career in Education. I received my certification and became highly qualifed to teach Pre-K through 8th grade. In 2012, I certified to teach Business at the middle and high school level. I pursued and completed my Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2013.
I am married to Eddie Jones who is also a teacher in the Gordon County School System. We have three wonderful boys. Our oldest, Tommy, is a Physical Education teacher in the Cobb County School District. My middle son, Justin, is a an accountant in Memphis, Tennessee. My youngest son, Landon, is a sophomore at Harding University.
I am very excited about the 2020-21 school year and am looking forward to working with the Virtual At Home Learning students in the Red Bud Community. To learn more about VAL, please navigate to the VAL webpage on the RBMS website by choosing
