A Letter from the Principal
Warrior families and stakeholders,
Welcome to Gordon Central High School, home of the Warriors. When our community says we have "Pride in the Tribe," it means to show love, compassion, and empathy for our peers and ourselves. Our high school is committed and dedicated to the success and achievements of our students through building relationships, maintaining rigor and high expectations, and preparing students to be college and career ready. All of this begins and ends with our passionate faculty and staff seeking to make a positive difference and impact on the lives of your children.
I have always been a proud member of the Gordon County community, and returning to my alma mater to serve as principal at GCHS is an honor and privilege. I was raised by Gordon County Schools as a student of Tolbert Elementary, Ashworth Middle School, and Gordon Central High. I have also served as an educator at AMS in 7th grade English language arts, GCHS in dual enrollment English, Advanced Placement English, and video production. My previous experience as an assistant principal at Sonoraville Elementary provides me with the full range of knowledge about our system's curriculum to be an instructional leader for our teachers.
My educational leadership philosophy is to be a transformational leader who seeks to redefine school culture and elevate students through rigor and personalized instruction. Our school continues to seek new ways to improve our quality of instruction, elevate student expectations, and provide equitable learning environments that foster positive relatoinships and student confidence in their learning capabilities. I actively seek new ways to improve Gordon Central by identifying areas of weakness, developing plans to support personnel, and receiving or providing meaningful feedback through communication and trust.
Gordon Central High School provides state and national award-winning programs in fine arts programs for One Act and State Literary, SkillsUSA Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education competition, and athletics. There is something for everyone at this school, and these programs are successful because of our passionate staff and community volunteers and supporters. Everything we do at this school is based on how we can serve our community, serve your families, and serve our futures by preparing students for a fulfilling future. This is only accomplished if we unite together as One Tribe seeking success.
Thank you for visiting this website. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, feedback, or are seeking to get involved.
