Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amanda King
Welcome to the intriguing world of life science. Life science is the middle school version of high school biology and anatomy. You will learn about everything from cells to DNA, classification of living organisms to the systems of the human body, ecology, food chains, biomes, and even how to predict what your child may look like!! Life science is fun, interesting, and even a little gross at times. My motto is, "The grosser, the better!!"
7th grade Life Science is also the year of the fabulous frog and owl pellet dissections!!!!
This is my 19th year of teaching. I taught for 13 1/2 years at Sonoraville Middle School and have been at RBMS since it opened its doors in January of 2014. I am from Fairmount and am a graduate of Gordon Central High School. I received my bachelor's degree in middle grades education from Shorter College and my master’s degree from Piedmont College. I am also currently pursuing my educational specialist degree at Piedmont College. Outside of school, I love to play the piano, spend time with my husband and children, swim, and work in my yard.
