I'm John Townsend and I have the pleasure of teaching 8th grade English Language Arts this year.  This is my tenth year teaching and my first with Red Bud Middle.  I look forward to getting to know my students and their parents alike, and I'm especially excited to have the opportunity to watch students grow and surprise themselves daily.  I'm committed to student achievement and genuinely want to help students create goals and meet those goals they set before themseleves.  If anyone has any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to contact me at jtownsend@gcbe.org.  

 I'm a Gordon County native and have lived in Gordon (or its immediate peripheries) my entire life.  My wife, Kat, and I have been blessed with two beautiful children that occupy the bulk of our time.  Though free time is often hard to come by, when it does present itself, I can be found running, reading, writing, or hiking.
