Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Stacey Cohea, and I love teaching and supporting children! I have been married to Kelly Cohea for 25 years. We have four incredible children that keep us busy. My oldest child attends Truett-McConnell University. I have two children at Red Bud Middle School and one child that attends Sonoraville Elementary School with me. My family and I love to spend our free time traveling. We also love serving together at Rock Bridge Community Church and watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball. We moved to Calhoun in 2001 and absolutely love our community!
I am a lifelong learner. I graduated from Alexander High School in Douglas County. I received my undergraduate degree in early childhood education from the University of West Georgia. In the spring of 2008, I earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University. A few years ago, I went back to school and earned a Master's Degree in School Counseling from Liberty University. My career in education began in my home town of Douglasville, Georgia where I taught kindergarten for three years. While my husband attended seminary, I taught first grade in Forsyth, Georgia. Upon moving to Gordon County in 2001, I earned my gifted endorsement and taught the gifted students of all ages at Fairmount Elementary. After spending three years as children's director at a local church, I returned to the Gordon County School System and taught first grade at Red Bud Elementary for four years. When Sonoraville Elementary School opened, I joined the inagural staff as a first grade teacher. For 5 years, I taught gifted children at both Sonoraville Elementary and Fairmount Elementary. l am now thrilled to serve as the school counselor at Sonoraville Elementary, where we find “Strength in Every Student”. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance to your child or your family.
