Degrees and Certifications:
I am Stacey Cohea and I love teaching and supporting children! I have been married to Kelly Cohea for 24 years. We have four incredible children that keep us busy. We love to spend our free time traveling and have set a goal to visit every state. So far, we have visited 29 states. We also spend our time serving together at Rock Bridge Community Church and watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball. We moved to Calhoun in 2001 and absolutely love our community!
I graduated from the University of West Georgia in 1995. In the spring of 2008, I earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University. I received my training in school counseling from Liberty University. I began my teaching career in my home town of Douglasville, Georgia where I taught kindergarten for three years. While my husband attended seminary, I taught first grade in Forsyth, Georgia. Upon moving to Gordon County in 2001, I earned my gifted endorsement and taught the gifted students of all ages at Fairmount Elementary. After spending three years as children's director at a local church, I returned to the Gordon County School System and taught first grade at Red Bud Elementary for four years. I was excited to be a part of the inaugural staff at Sonoraville Elementary School in 2009, where I taught first grade and gifted children of all ages. It was my honor to represent both Sonoraville Elementary School and Gordon County as their Teacher of the Year in 2010-2011. I love serving as the school counselor at Sonoraville Elementary where we find “Strength in Every Student”. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance to your child or your family.
