Degrees and Certifications:
I am Stacey Cohea and I love teaching and supporting children! I have been married to Kelly Cohea for 23 years. We have four incredible children that keep us busy. We moved to Calhoun in 2001 and absolutely love our community!
I graduated from the University of West Georgia in 1995. In the spring of 2008, I earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University. I began my teaching career in my home town of Douglasville, Georgia where I taught kindergarten for three years. While my husband attended seminary, I taught first grade in Forsyth, Georgia. Upon moving to Gordon County in 2001, I earned my gifted endorsement and taught the gifted students of all ages at Fairmount Elementary. After spending three years as children's director at a local church, I returned to the Gordon County School System and taught first grade at Red Bud Elementary for four years. It was exciting to be a part of the inaugural staff at Sonoraville Elementary School in 2009. It was also an honor to serve as both the Sonoraville Elementary and Gordon County Teacher of the Year in 2010-2011.
I am excited about serving as the school counselor at Sonoraville Elementary where we find “Strength in Every Student”. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance to your child or your family.
