Degrees and Certifications:
Weclcome back to another year at Sonoraville Elementary School. I am excited to be back Sonoraville Elementary School as the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for the fifth year. Although last year and this year may look different, I am looking forward to the new year and greeting all of my students!
I began my career in 1997 after obtaining my Master’s Degree from Valdosta State University. I spent 4 years in Wilkinson County as the only SLP in the county. Next, I moved to Kennesaw and worked with Babies’ Can’t Wait. It was a great experience and gave me insights into younger preschoolers. I also spent a few month in a private clinic where we focused on Sensory Integration.
Then, I realized, that I missed being in the schools, seeing all children in the halls and in the classroom. Schools are where I love to be! I began working in Cherokee County in 2003 with a variety of needs on my caseload. I have worked in Elementary Schools with self-contained classes and have worked in preschool centers and settings.
In addition to a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, I also have a Specialist Degree in Special Education. I have a Georgia license and have my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
