Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Carmen Massengill

I am entering my twentieth year with the Gordon County School District, having spent eighteen of those years on the Sonoraville Campus. I was a classroom teacher for nineteen years at the middle and high levels, before becoming a Math Coach and a facilitator for the assessment, instruction, and curriculum at Sonoraville High School.  Both my husband and I are lifelong Gordon County residents and graduates of Gordon Central High School.  Our children currently attend Sonoraville Elementary (1st grade) and Red Bud Middle School (6th grade).  We enjoy spending weekends at various soccer fields with our children playing Academy and Select clubs for the Arsenal soccer program.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of North Georgia, Masters degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of West Georgia, and a Specialist Degree in Instruction and Curriculum from Piedmont College.  My other experiences also include certifications in Gifted and Teacher Support services and extensive co-teaching training and experience with the ESS program.   As an Instructional Math Coach, I am available to provide assistance with all levels of math classes at Sonoraville High School, including their planning, modeling of instruction, and support with assessments.
