Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Carmelita Everett

My parents were in the Air Force so I moved around quite a bit growing up.  My family settled in Calhoun when I was in 5th grade.  I graduated from Red Bud High School in 1990, before its closing in 1991.  I attended several colleges in my quest to find my place in the world, from Young Harris College to University of Colorado.  During that time, I also flew as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines.  I graduated from North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA in 2008.

I began my teaching career at SHS 13 years ago as a special education teacher.  I am very proud to have served in the ESS department for 9 years.  I am now living my dream and teaching Biology to 11th graders.  I also have the pleasure of teaching Forensic Science this year.  I wanted to be a forensic scientist when I graduated and I love sharing my passion for investigation with my students.  Science is something I have always been passionate about and I love coming to work every day to explore science and watch young minds grow.  I can't wait to see what we will get into this year!

My son, Keegan, is my pride and joy.  I love being his mom and I appreciate the things I have learned on my journey with him.  He is currently a 10th grader at SHS.  We are proud to be a part of the Phoenix Nation!
