Ms. Nikki Swilley

Hello, my name is Nikki Swilley. This year I begin my third year as the Health Occupations instructor and my second year as the CNA program instructor here at SHS.  I am also beginning my first year as an advisor for our student led healthcare organization, Club Med.  Club med focuses on current healthcare principles, trends in healthcare, and  ommunity service projects.

My nursing career began as a certified nursing assist. My love for my patients/residents and medicine led me to pursue my nursing degree at Dalton College. Now, I have transitioned into the world of education and enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with the future of healthcare.

Sonoraville High School’s Healthcare pathway provides the students with the opportunity to learn about healthcare concepts, technology, and patient care skills, in hopes of helping them identify potential future careers in the healthcare industry. Our healthcare skills lab offers the possibility of training clinical procedures in a safe learning environment. The Health Occupation skills lab contains; nine fully functional hospital beds, training mannequins, assessment, and vital sign equipment, weighted scales, laboratory equipment, assistive devices, and has the equipment necessary to train the students in CPR.

The program consists of three courses:  Intro to Healthcare, Essentials to Healthcare, and Allied Medicine.  I presently instruct the Intro Class, Allied Medicine, and the CNA class through Chattahoochee Technical College as a dual enrollment class for the students.
