Degrees and Certifications:
Miss Theresa Haygood
Hello! This is my 28th year teaching at Tolbert Elementary School. This is my 25th year in 5th grade, and I taught 4th grade for 3 years. I've always taught science, but I've also taught some reading, language arts, math, and now in addition to teaching science, I teach Social Studies. I graduated from Cass High School in Bartow County in 1982. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology (laboratory science) from the Medical College of Georgia in 1986. I received a teaching certificate in 4-8 education from Kennesaw College in 1991, and a Masters in 4-8 Education from West Georgia College in 1996. I currently have an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum from Piedmont College that I received in 2007. I've also received a science endorsement in K-5 education. I am currently teaching 5th grade science and social studies. I also currently volunteer on the school PTO.
I live in Bartow County near my mom. I have two dogs and a turtle. I enjoy bowling on leagues, reading, watching sports and NCIS. I still use my Medical Technology degree. I am also employed by Wellstar Health Systems at Kennestone Hospital in the Blood Bank. I now work some weekends and during the summer. I've been employed there for 32 years.
I'm looking forward to a wonderful 2018-19 school year.
