Mrs. Lucretia S. Cantrell, Ed.S.

Welcome to Kindergarten!! I am so excited about our upcoming school year and expecting great things from our classroom.

I would like to share my qualifications and some personal information. 2020-2021 will be my 29th year teaching in Gordon County Schools! I am a lifelong resident of Gordon County and a product of Gordon County Schools. I even attended Tolbert Elementary as a child! I am married to Al Cantrell and we have two sons, Clay and Will. Clay turned nineteen in November 2020 and is a 2020 SHS graduate. He is a Gordon County firefighter as of Oct. 2020.  Will turned 12 years old in early January 2020 and is in seventh grade at RBMS.

My parents are Hilda Stanfield and the late Lynn Stanfield. I hold a current L-6 teaching certificate with a TSS (Teacher Support Specialist) endorsement and I am certified to teach Pre-K - 5th grade in all subjects and middle grade reading. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education in early childhood education from the University of Georgia, a Masters in Education in elementary education from Berry College, and an Educational Specialist degree in administration from Lincoln Memorial University. Therefore, I meet the No Child Left Behind requirements of being highly qualified. I was honored to be named Belwood Elementary’s Teacher of the Year for 1992-1993 by my peers. I spent 17 years at Belwood Elementary, four years at Sonoraville Elementary , and this is my eighth year at Tolbert Elementary School. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and third grade.

Parapro- Mrs. Kelly Ferguson is our class paraprofessional. She will be in the room daily. She is married and has one son..

I am pleased to have your child in my class and I look forward to an open line of communication between us. Please feel free to contact me by note, phone, or email.
