Mr. Gilreath

Hello! My name is Tim Gilreath.  I am from Gordon County having lived in the Sonoraville area as a child.  I attended Sonoraville Elementary School, Ashworth Middle School, Calhoun High School and then transferred to Gordon Central High School as a senior and was part of the Charter Class.  I am very excited to be part of the Second Grade team at Belwood!  I have worked with ALL age and grade levels from Kindergarten to High School Seniors.  I have taught all subjects including K-6 Music Appreciation and Chorus.  I currently live in Calhoun with my wife, Wendy, and have four children: Lindsay, Molly, Owen, DJ (son-in-law), and one granddaughter, Abigail.  Our family is big into helping and supporting animals and currently we have 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 6 guinea pigs at our house. Two of the guinea pigs (Cheerio and Nutmeg) travel back and forth with me daily and are classroom mascots!!

I inherited a family business in the early 2000's but quickly discovered my true love was for teaching.  I returned to school and completed my Master of Arts in Teaching degree in 2014.  I have taught my entire life, whether in the private or public sector.  I love to learn, and work to make learning simple for my students.  I believe we can have fun while learning and investigating the world around us.

I look forward to creating a love of learning in my students and sending them on with a desire to succeed!
