Degrees and Certifications:

Doug Clark

My name is Doug Clark and I teach 2nd grade at Fairmount Elementary School.  This is my 19th year in education where I have worked in 3 school systems, Murray County, Calhoun City, and Gordon County Schools, in a wide variety of positions.  From teaching 1st grade for 4 years, PE for 1 year, an Instructional Coach for 2 years, as well as 11 years in administrative positions at the elementary and high school levels.  My return to the classroom has been a great experience and I look forward to completing this school year with my students.  This time has allowed me to recall why I wanted to teach many years ago and get back to that love.

My educational history started as a graduate of Ringgold High School many, many years ago.  My undergraduate degree came from West Georgia College with a BS degree in Early Childhood Education.  I received my Masters Degree from Walden University with a MS degree in Reading Instruction and I completed an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.

I am married, have grown children that are out in the world making their own way, and two adorable little Yorkies named Badger and Maddie. I live in Calhoun, but am originally from Ringgold, Georgia. I spent my adult life moving between a career in Education and a career in Glazing (Commercial Glass Work) and have spent just as long in each.  I love to travel the world through cruising as well as spending time with my family and friends.
