Mrs. Kelly DeFrench
I am so excited to be teaching Reach and the G6 program at Fairmount Elementary this year. After graduating high school from Cherokee County. I went to Kennesaw State College where I pursued my degree in Early Childhood Education and became a teacher. I graduated from KSC in 1994. I started my career in Cherokee County at Oak Grove Elementary teahcing first grade. While there I also taught Kindergarten. I then taught in Bartow County at White Elementary for 12 years and made the move to Gordon County three years ago. I was split between two schools but am happy to say that I am the full time gifted teacher at Fairmount. This is my 19th year teaching and I have taught every elementary grade.
I am married to Steve DeFrench who is from Cleveland, Ohio. We have three children: Darian who will begin her career this year with the United States Capital Police in Washington DC, Ciera who attends college at Young Harris in North Georgia and aspires to become an architect, and Landon who is a junior at Cass High School in Bartow County and looks forward to attending trade school to become a welder. My children are my pride and joy and I am thankful and blessed every day that God chose me to be their mama.
When I am not working I love to hike or just be outdoors, and spend time with my family. My two favorite places to be are in the mountains of Tennessee or the on beaches of Florida. I hope to one day retire to one of two and spend my days relaxing.
