Degrees and Certifications:
Miss Shelby Williams
Hello! I am Shelby Williams, and I will be your child's third grade writing teacher this year. This will be my second year at FES. I am so excited to be back at school with everyone, and I absolutely cannot wait to see all the wonderful accomplishments this new year will hold for our students.
Last year, as I began my first year teaching as Fairmount Elementary's fourth grade writing and science teacher, I was thrilled to have found my place in the county I grew up in. I am a native of Calhoun. I attended Tolbert Elementary, Ashworth Middle, and Gordon Central High. I graduated from Gordon Central in 2015. Upon graduation, I went on to Dalton State College to receive my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. With this, I also hold both ESOL and Autism endorsements. In addition to the student teaching involved in my program preparation, I have spent much of my time in childcare/educational environments. During my time in college, I worked for 4 years in afterschool care at Swain Elementary. I also worked 3 summers as a camp counselor with Calhoun City Schools.
As I mentioned, I cannot wait to see where this year will take us. I am eager to watch our students as they grow, learn, and mature. While I hope for my students to be successful, I hope even more for them to want to be successful and better than they were the day prior. I want them to know they are capable of great things and to want those for themselves. This will be a fabulous year!!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions/ concerns! Dojo is a great place for communication, or you can email or call the school.
