VAL parents, guardians, and students:
The End-of-Course Milestones tests are still required by the state of Georgia and currently count 20% of the student’s course grade. Even though the Georgia Board of Education is continuing to discuss the percentage these tests count, Gordon County Schools are still required to administer these tests to all students, including our virtual learners. It is imperative your student prepare and pass the test to receive credit for the course; a student who does not test risks failing the course without an EOC score. Your VAL child needs to come to the school on the scheduled date for the EOC course he or she may have; no materials are needed, but a mask is highly encouraged and will also be provided on-site.
Our goal is to create a safe environment, and we highly encourage your student to wear a mask at all times during testing. The testing area will be cleaned and disinfected before and after each day. You will need to arrange transportation to and from the testing session. Your student should arrive between 8:15 and 8:20 so testing can begin at 8:30. VAL students will not be allowed to ride the bus or remain on-campus following testing. When your student completes testing, he or she will be allowed to exit to the front lobby and wait for pick-up.
Dates and courses are listed below; however, please check your personal emails for more specific times and locations.
