2019 Title I Spring Parent Input Meetings

  • During the month of March, our elementary and middle schools will be hosting a number of drop-in meetings. These meetings will provide opportunities for your input and suggestions on the following Title I documents: District Parent and Family Engagement Policy, School Parent and Family Engagement Policy, School Improvement Plan, School-Parent Compacts, Building School Staff Capacity with the assistance of parents, and the 1% set-aside for Parent and Family Engagement activities

    All parents and family members are invited to attend.

    If you cannot make it to your child’s school, you are welcome to attend any of the other scheduled meetings.  Family Engagement Specialists will be present to assist and answer any questions you may have.

    Thank you for the nominations to help us recognize our teachers that go the 2nd Mile to communicate with parents and families to enhance student learning!  Over 160 nominations were submitted for teachers that exceed the standard in parent-teacher communication through regular, two-way, and meaningful communication involving student academic learning. Through your nomination these teachers received recognition and the outstanding communication strategies will be shared with other teachers across the district.

    What is Family Engagement?

    Family Engagement means the participation of parents and family members in regular, two-way, and meaningful communication involving student academic learning and other school activities, including ensuring:

    (A) That parents play an integral role in assisting their child’s learning.

    (B) That parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education.

    (C) That parents are full partners in their child’s education and are included, as appropriate, in decision-making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child.

    (D) The carrying out of other activities, such as those described in Section 1116 of the ESSA.
