Zack Sisson Recognized as Calhoun Women's Club Youth of the Month
Zack Sisson, a senior at Gordon Central was recently recognized as Calhoun Woman's Club Youth of the Month. Zack was nominated by his healthcare science instructor, Heidi Weaver, for his outstanding leadership abilities and contributions to various community service projects and programs. Zack is a member of HOSA, SkillsUSA, National Honor Society, Warrior Academy, Gordon Co. Youth leadership, Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy, Varsity Basketball and Baseball, Spanish Club, Chorus, Tri-M, and One Act Theater. Zack has assisted with many community service projects including, Tolbert Elementary's fall festival and field day, Red Cross blood drives, Feed the Hungry, and GC's Color Run. He volunteers weekly at the local Healing Hands Clinic and this past summer he completed Floyd Medical Center's Volunteen program by serving 60 hrs. in their outpatient services. Zack is currently hosting a winter dance at GC to raise funds for Calhoun's Camp New Adventure. Zack's post-secondary goals include attending college for his pre-med degree then off to medical school in hopes of becoming a neurosurgeon.
