GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION RECOGNIZES STATE REWARD SCHOOL WINNER

GORDON COUNTY, GA- Red Bud Elementary School was recognized by the Gordon County Board of Education for being named a Title I “Reward School” in July of this year.

During the August Gordon County Schools Board of Education meeting, held on August 9th, Red Bud Elementary was formally recognized for earning the Title I “Reward School” honor. Red Bud Elementary School Principal, Debra Brock, and Assistant Principal, Chrissy Smith, were in attendance to accept the recognition and certificate presented by Patricia Boswell, Director of Federal Programs and Professional Learning.

“I am proud of the work of Red Bud Elementary School to improve the performance of all students,” said Patricia Boswell. “This award recognizes the collaborative teamwork of the staff and leadership toward the common goal of ensuring students are growing academically.”

A Reward School is recognized as being amongst the top 5 percent of Title I schools for improvement in student academic performance. This is the second time Red Bud Elementary has received the distinguished Title I “Reward School” honor.
