The Gordon County Schools (GCS) Board of Education and Superintendent Kimberly Fraker recognized Deryl Dennis for his outstanding service in education at the Gordon County Schools leadership meeting on Thursday, December 16th.

Having served in various principalship roles with GCS since 2017 at both Fairmount Elementary and at the new Gordon Gateway Virtual Learning Academy, Dennis will retire this month after a remarkable career.

Prior to his career with Gordon County Schools, Mr. Dennis served in several principalship positions in Paulding County since 2003. During his tenure as a principal, he seized the opportunity to open new schools, implement research based instructional strategies, serve as the District President of the Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals, and was named District Administrator of the Year in Paulding County.

“We are extremely thankful for Mr. Dennis’ many years of dedicated service, leadership, and for providing meaningful learning experiences to every student and family he served,” said Gordon County Schools Superintendent, Kimberly Fraker. “Mr. Dennis will be so missed, and we wish him the best in his retirement and all his future endeavors.”
