Gordon Central High School agriculture students in Mrs. Wheat’s class took their learning into the greenhouse today as they worked on seeding plants.

Students were willing to get their hands dirty as they practiced important skills connected to plant growth, agriculture, and greenhouse management. This hands on experience gave them the opportunity to apply what they are learning in class while building confidence through real world work.

These Warriors definitely have a green thumb!

W.L. Swain Elementary kindergarten students had a special visit to Gordon Central High School today, where they worked alongside high school students in Mrs. Albright’s Teaching as a Profession classes.

Our future Warriors visited several classrooms, including those of Ms. Mills, Mrs. Hice, and Mrs. Lee, and participated in fun, hands on activities throughout the day. Pictured here, students were having a great time learning in Mrs. Lee’s Healthcare class.

We always love seeing our older students connect with younger learners and share their knowledge, encouragement, and school spirit. Experiences like this bring our schools together as one community and give students of all ages opportunities to learn from one another.

Seniors: If you have not yet taken your senior portrait, CADY will be on campus October 8 to photograph the remaining seniors. Students must sign up in advance to have their photo taken that day. Please see the attached sign-up information and make sure your appointment is scheduled as soon as possible. Note: This is the LAST photo session at Gordon Central. If you miss the October 8th photo date, then you will have to go the CADY studio for photos. Please see Mrs. Rainwater if you have any questions.

Wireless Wednesday in Action! 🔗📚

Mr. Garrett’s and Mrs. Freeman’s U.S. History students put their critical thinking skills to work during a hands-on hexagonal thinking activity for #WirelessWednesday! By connecting key terms and concepts, students created an interactive web of ideas that helped them examine the many causes and relationships that led to the Civil War.

Great collaboration, thoughtful discussions, and deeper learning made for an engaging history lesson. We love seeing our students make meaningful connections and bring history to life!

🏀 Warrior Basketball Tryouts Are Coming Up! 🏀

Ready to hit the court? Basketball tryouts will be held October 19-20 for students interested in joining Gordon Central Basketball. Be sure to attend and don't forget that an updated physical and Rank One information are required to participate.
