His students are getting ready for the upcoming state SkillsUSA competition. Students are gaining hands-on experience each week through projects in masonry, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, TeamWorks, and more.

Blizzard’s coaching philosophy emphasizes not only athletic excellence but also academic achievement and character development. With a Master’s degree in Instructional Leadership and certifications in Special Education and Physical Education, he has consistently focused on developing well-rounded student-athletes who succeed in the classroom and in life.
Before joining Gordon Central, Blizzard served as Defensive Coordinator at East Paulding High School and Sprayberry High School, where he helped lead teams to multiple playoff appearances and earned numerous coaching honors. Gordon County Schools is proud to announce its 2025 Pathway Graduation Rates published today by the Georgia Department of Education. The Class of 2025 had graduation rates in the following categories: 100% in Advanced Academics, 100% in World Language, 97.09% in Fine Arts, and 97.83% in CTAE.
Our school system prepares Gordon County high school students with life after graduation through career planning and pathway courses. Families work with our high schools during registration to help map out a minimum of three related Georgia Career Clusters to help identify potential career paths and navigate to greater success in the real world.
The purpose of graduating with a completed career pathway is to show students the importance of what they are learning in the classroom, whether they want to attend a two-year college, a four-year university, serve in our military, or go straight into the workforce. By taking courses in advanced academics, world languages, fine arts, or Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE), our students are better prepared and ready for life after high school.
Gordon County Schools is very proud of its 2025 senior class, and we look forward to seeing this continued success with our upcoming graduates.

District leaders presented schools today with banners celebrating outstanding performance ratings on the Georgia 2025 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). Congratulations to Gordon Central High School for their district-level achievements in Content Mastery: American Literature, Literacy, and Progress Math!
#ExtraordinaryGCS #ExtraordinaryGCHS
CCRPI scores are calculated using multiple indicators that measure student achievement, progress, readiness, and closing gaps. A key component of the CCRPI is student performance and growth on state assessments, including the Georgia Milestones End-of-Grade (EOG) and End-of-Course (EOC) tests. Additional factors include graduation rates, progress of English Learners, and indicators of college and career readiness.
Content Mastery: Looks at how well students are performing on Georgia Milestones tests in core subject areas, representing their level of academic proficiency.
Literacy: Highlights student performance specifically in reading and writing. Literacy is a critical indicator of long-term academic success and is closely monitored as part of both readiness and content mastery.
Progress – Math: Tracks student growth over time on the Georgia Milestones in Mathematics, regardless of their starting point. It shows how much academic progress students are making year to year.
