Red Bud Elementary 3rd grade students in Mrs. Carden’s class worked together with partners to compare and contrast two stories. When they finished, they continued exploring the authors in Epic on their iPads.

Students used a Venn diagram to organize their thinking as they looked closely at characters, setting, plot, and events. This activity helped students build reading comprehension skills while practicing how to explain similarities and differences between texts.

It was a great example of collaboration, critical thinking, and strong literacy work at RBES.

If you have not yet completed the 2027-2028 School Calendar Survey, please take a few moments to share your preference between Option 1 and Option 2. The primary difference between the two proposed calendars is the timing of Fall Break.

The survey also includes an optional section about school and district communications. These questions will help us better understand how you receive information, which communication tools you prefer, and whether there is interest in exploring a more centralized approach to communication.

The communications portion is completely optional and is not required in order to submit your calendar selection.

The survey closes September 1. Please submit your response using this link: https://forms.gle/wM3v9A7N4SfNDoRg6

Thank you for taking a few moments to provide your feedback!

Red Bud Elementary 4th grade students in Mrs. Franklin’s class were strengthening their reading and writing skills by learning how to identify a story’s theme.

Students had to explain the story's lesson or message by using context clues to establish the theme. By looking closely at details in the text, students practiced thinking deeply about what they read and supporting their ideas.

Red Bud Elementary 5th grade students had a great time enjoying the playground and spending time together outside.

5th grade is such an important year as students continue growing as leaders, building friendships, and setting an example for younger Cardinals. It was wonderful to see them laughing, connecting, and making memories as they begin their final year of elementary school.

We are excited to watch our 5th graders learn, lead, and succeed throughout the year! Thank you to their teacher team for all they do to help prepare them for middle school and beyond.

Red Bud Elementary had a great start to the school year with special moments happening throughout the building.

Mrs. Schwartz was seen walking down the hallway with a new friend, one of the students in her class, while Mrs. Cloer read a first day of school story and talked with students about ways to overcome feeling nervous. These moments help students feel welcomed, supported, and ready for a successful year.

We also want to thank our school resource officers for all they do to help care for our school, students, and staff each day. Their presence, support, and dedication make a meaningful difference in our school community.
