Red Bud Elementary students in Mrs. Davis’s REACH class were putting creativity and problem solving to work as they developed characters for a multi tiered game they are creating for a class project.
Students began designing their own characters, identified personality traits, and thought through challenges each character might face. They then used those details to help shape different levels for the game.

We are so excited to welcome our special guests to Red Bud Elementary for Grandparents Week! Please join your student for lunch on their scheduled day.

The Gordon County Schools Board of Education, Superintendent Alice Mashburn, Assistant Superintendents Sket Angland and Justin Timms, and Executive Director of Finance Mendy Goble visited schools across the district today to spend time in classrooms and walk through campuses.
There are so many amazing things happening throughout Gordon County Schools, and today was a wonderful opportunity to see students learning, teachers leading, and schools creating strong environments for success.

Join us September 21–25, 2026 for our Literati Book Fair! We have special family shopping events planned each morning from 7:15–8:15 AM:

We loved having Sonoraville High School athletes join us for morning car riders today! Our Cardinals were so excited to meet these amazing student-athletes and start their day with some extra smiles and encouragement.

Students used a Venn diagram to organize their thinking as they looked closely at characters, setting, plot, and events. This activity helped students build reading comprehension skills while practicing how to explain similarities and differences between texts.
It was a great example of collaboration, critical thinking, and strong literacy work at RBES.

Students had to explain the story's lesson or message by using context clues to establish the theme. By looking closely at details in the text, students practiced thinking deeply about what they read and supporting their ideas.

These moments help students feel welcomed, supported, and ready for a successful year.
We also want to thank our school resource officers for all they do to help care for our school, students, and staff each day. Their presence, support, and dedication make a meaningful difference in our school community.
