Attention 6th and 7th grade girls! Red Bud Middle School cheerleading tryouts will be April 27-30 from 3:45-5:30 in the RBMS gym. Wednesday, April 29 will be for competition girls only. You must have a current physical on file to try out. Upcoming 6th grade students may bring a copy of the physical to tryouts on Monday, April 27th. Please wear your white tryout shirt with black shorts and a white bow on Thursday, April 30. More detailed information can be found on the RBMS Cheerleading page. Students may also pick up a tryout packet from Ms. Mullinax at RBMS.

Do you love to sing? Chorus is the place for you! Registration is now open for the 2026-27 school year and there's a place for you in the Red Bud Middle School Chorus! Chorus is a year-long class that meets daily and prepares music for concerts, field trips, and performs a spring musical. If you are a current RBMS student and are not already in chorus but would like to be next year, please fill out the form too! Let's make beautiful music together!

Support the Red Bud Middle School Visual Arts Department by purchasing a t-shirt with artwork designed by 6th grader, Jay Carter! Jay’s artwork showcases a red and black Phoenix that stretches across a soft gray t-shirt. Money raised from the t-shirt sale will go to purchasing materials for the RBMS Visual Arts Program. The shirt comes in youth small through youth extra-large, and adult extra-small through adult extra-large. Shirts are $15.00. You may scan the QR code on the accompanying flyer or visit the art fundraiser order page to preorder the shirt. The order form will close April 24th. Mr. William Bryant was named the new assistant principal of Red Bud Middle School at the April 13 Board of Education meeting.

Mr. Bryant currently serves as Transition Center Coordinator for Gordon County Schools, where he oversees student discipline, academics, testing, and daily operations while supervising staff and supporting student success.

He brings a wide range of experience in education, having served in both elementary and middle school settings. Mr. Bryant began his career with Gordon County Schools in 2008 at Gordon Central High School. His background includes roles in special education, physical education, and general classroom instruction.

In addition to his classroom experience, Mr. Bryant has demonstrated strong leadership through his work as athletic director and head football coach at Red Bud Middle School from 2018 to 2024. In these roles, he coordinated athletic programs, supervised staff, and contributed to schoolwide decision-making and communication.

“Red Bud Middle School is truly a special place filled with exceptional students, dedicated staff, and a strong sense of community,” said Mr. Bryant. “I am honored and excited to return, and I look forward to reconnecting with familiar faces while also building new relationships. Together, I am confident we will continue to create an environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed.”

Recently, RBMS held a Family STEAM Night that brought students, families, and staff together for an evening of curiosity, creativity, and hands‑on learning! Families explored science and math activities, watched robotics demonstrations, investigated rocks, minerals, and Georgia wildlife, experienced some hair‑raising static electricity, and enjoyed a student art show filled with original, inspiring work.

Please join us for COLOR THE BUD.
The 2nd COLOR THE BUD color run will be held on Friday, April 24th at RBMS. The race is open to students who are currently in 3rd grade through adults. The cost is $20 per person and includes a T-Shirt if registered by April 10th. After that, additional T-shirts will be available for $10 while supply lasts. Concessions will also be available the day of the race.
We welcome all students from our community, regardless of school affiliation.

Gordon County Schools is proud to announce an exceptional showing at the Georgia State Technology Competition, held on March 14 at the Henry County Academy of Advanced Studies in McDonough, Georgia. This year, we had a total of five student winners, the most our district has ever earned.

Zillionaire Li Ou, a sophomore at Gordon Central High School, won 1st place in the 9th–10th grade Animation category with an animated short film, under the guidance of his sponsoring teacher, Mrs. Heather Stodghill from the Gordon College and Career Academy.

Red Bud Middle School 8th grade students Elijah Dacus and Dalton Evans earned a 2nd place finish in Web and Mobile Apps for 7th–8th grades for the e-commerce website they built. Another team of Red Bud Middle School 8th grade students, Rebecca Nuam and Rosslyn Rodriguez, placed 3rd in 7th–8th grade Video Production, producing a video that showcased the Georgia Aquarium. Their sponsoring teacher is RBMS STEAM instructor Mrs. Carrie Greeson-Parish.

Overall, Gordon County Schools took 11 students who won first place at the Northwest Georgia Regional Technology Competition to the state event, another record for the district. We are extremely proud of all students who participated in the Georgia State Technology Competition and represented GCS so well.
