The Voluntary Action Center's annual Fired Up Food Drive begins next Monday, November 17. Students will be asked to donate non-perishable food items to aid the VAC and their mission. The homeroom that collects the. most items will win a pizza party!

Gordon County Schools is proud to announce that Tolbert Elementary School and Red Bud Middle School have been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education for outstanding academic achievement.
Tolbert Elementary was named a Literacy Leader for exceptional growth in 3rd Grade Gateway Reading, and Red Bud Middle was recognized as a Math Leader in High School Outstanding Achievement for the performance of its 8th-grade students on the 9th Grade Algebra End-of-Course Milestones exam.
The Literacy Leader and Math Leader honors celebrate schools that demonstrate extraordinary student progress and proficiency. Schools are recognized for achievement, growth, or both, based on annual end-of-grade and end-of-course assessments. These awards highlight the importance of strong literacy and numeracy skills as foundations for lifelong learning and success.
State School Superintendent Richard Woods commended these schools, saying, “Strong literacy and math skills open the door for every opportunity our students will encounter in school, in their future careers, and in life. The schools recognized as Literacy Leaders and Math Leaders have shown a deep commitment to ensuring every student has the tools to succeed.”

The RBMS competition cheerleaders ended their season with a huge 3rd place finish out of 7 very competitive teams at the region competition on November 1. They hit a perfect routine with zero deductions and scored a 76.5! We are proud of their hard work this season and representing Red Bud well. Great job, ladies!

Congratulations to the 2-Sentence Scary Story Contest winners for 2025!
On October 25, the Red Bud competition cheerleaders competed at Dalton High School's Spooks and Spirits. They placed 2nd out of 7 teams and earned their highest score of the season!! They scored a 78 and had zero deductions. We are so proud of their hard work and accomplishments so far this season! They will have their Region competition this Saturday, November 1 at Woodland High School and will compete at 10:15. Come out and support your Phoenix Cheerleaders!

Red Ribbon Week, a week devoted to celebrating a drug free lifestyle, is next week, October 27-30. We hope everyone enjoys participating in the dress-up days. Please note that wearing Halloween costumes is a fund-raiser for student council. In order to wear a costume, students will need to pay $2.00.

The Red Bud Middle School Academic Team did an amazing job representing our school on Wednesday, October 1st, at the Region Championship. The first match was against Cass Middle School where Captain Parker Holland led the team to a 190-95 victory scoring 8 tossups and advancing the team to the semi-finals where RBMS played against Woodland Middle School coming out on top with a 205-85 win. Again, Captain Parker Holland led the team with 6 tossups, and Elijah Dacus added 2. In the final match against Cartersville Middle School, Parker Holland led the team with 8 tossups followed by Elijah Dacus with 1 tossup to the final victory 185-55. Red Bud Middle School has its first ever UNDEFEATED season followed by a Region Championship win for a perfect season. Team members include Captain Parker Holland, Elijah Dacus, Emmanuel Moran-Anguiano, Jacobi Johnston, Bentley Bell, Savannah Newton, Jacoby Weaver, Shaun Hunter, and Kolton Hudec coached by Carrie Greeson-Parish.

The Phoenix Cross country team competed in the Region Meet at Woodland! This season has had many ups and downs but the Phoenix boys and girls teams have put the hard work in! Wrapping up the season our top 5 runners were Julian Alvarez, Luke Walker, Daniel Bawi, Bane Hauser, and Bawi Bik. Leading for our girls team were Monse Barrio-Anguiano, Valeria Barrio-Anguiano, Karla Correa, Tayla Thune, and Elisha Bello!
Finishing in the top 10 at the region meet and medaling were Julian Alvarez in 4th, Luke Walker in 5th and Monse Barrio-Anguiano in 9th. Our boys finished 4th overall and our girls finished 7th! What an amazing season!!!
