Gordon County Schools is proud to announce that the Georgia Department of Education has awarded all ten schools within its district with the Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness in its pilot year.
Ashworth Middle, Belwood Elementary, Fairmount Elementary, Gordon Central High, Red Bud Middle, Red Bud Elementary, Sonoraville Elementary, Sonoraville High, Swain Elementary, and Tolbert Elementary Schools' applications were reviewed by experts at the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) and found to meet the requirements for this distinction.
Every child should feel safe while inside a school, and families should know that their children are being taken care of and supported mentally and physically. Gordon County Schools prides itself on safety training, reviewing, and planning for any potential threat or danger that could arise. The dedication that faculty and staff show each day is a testament to this achievement.
