Gordon County Schools is proud to announce that Sonoraville Elementary School has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a 2026 Title I Reward School.
This prestigious recognition identifies Sonoraville Elementary among the top 5% of Title I schools in Georgia making the most progress in improving the academic performance of all students.
Title I Reward Schools are identified by comparing content mastery scores from the two most recent years of reported data from statewide assessments. Being included among the state’s highest progressing Title I schools reflects the continued focus on student achievement taking place throughout Sonoraville Elementary.
The Georgia Department of Education’s Office of Federal Programs shared that the recognition reflects the commitment and hard work of educators, students, and families. The department also noted that earning the distinction highlights effective teaching and strong school leadership.
Title I, Part A provides federal funding to support schools in strengthening academic achievement and helping ensure students have opportunities to meet challenging state academic standards.
