CALHOUN, GA – The Gordon County Schools (GCS) Nutrition Program has been awarded a $35,000 grant from Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign.

Funding from the No Kid Hungry Grant will be used to provide meals to Gordon County Schools students 18 years of age and younger during the summer, purchase a van to make meals more accessible and assist with safely transporting meals throughout the GCS community. All Gordon County Schools students will have access to meals at no cost.

“Gordon County School Nutrition could not be more thrilled for this opportunity and to continue serving our students and community,” stated Gordon County Director of School Nutrition, Nicole Head.

No Kid Hungry aims to end childhood hunger by helping to launch and improve programs that give kids the healthy food they need to thrive. No Kid Hungry is a campaign by Share Our Strength, an organization working to end hunger and poverty.
