No Cost Breakfast and Lunch

Gordon County Schools is proud to continue providing free breakfast and lunch to all students for the 2025–2026 school year. Making sure students are well-nourished is essential for learning, and we remain committed to offering nutritious meals every school day at no cost. This is made possible through our continued participation in the Community Eligibility Provision, which is supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. Because of this provision, families no longer need to complete meal applications, which reduces paperwork and administrative costs. Healthy school meals play an important role in helping students succeed. They are especially important for students who may face food insecurity. Research shows that access to free meals at school improves overall health, helps reduce obesity, and supports stronger academic performance. By offering meals to all students, we remove barriers and reduce any stigma related to receiving school meals.
