Applying for Grants

When an individual, department, grade level, school, or other group in the district wishes to apply for a grant from any agency, public or private, the party making the request should complete and submit a GCS Grant Review Application form for approval.

All review applications should be submitted to Dr. Amy Parker, Director of Leadership and Secondary Education, no later than 2 weeks prior to the due date of the grant applications itself.

The primary objectives for this internal review are: (1) to avoid duplication of requests where duplication would be detrimental, and (2) to avoid being involved in projects which would ultimately be costly to the Board of Education.

Under no circumstances should the Gordon County Schools' federal or state tax identification number (EIN) be distributed without the written consent of the district office.

Grant Applications can be found here.

NOTIFICATION TO ALL GCS STAFF ON MARCH 29, 2022:

A couple of weeks ago the GaDOE Office of External Affairs & Policy sent a note to Technology Directors to “whitelist” the ClassWallet email address as there would be an email coming from the Governor to teachers and paraprofessionals about a $125 Classroom Grant.

The letter, sent via email, began going out to teachers and paraprofessionals yesterday and will continue over the next couple days. Teachers may receive them at different times, but they should all be received by Thursday. The Georgia Department of Education used the email for teachers/paraprofessionals that is tied to your PSC (Professional Standards Commission) account for certification. Since PSC provided the emails to GaDOE for their use, your email may go to your personal email or your school email, depending on what you use with PSC.

In summary, the email that was sent yesterday is legitimate and teachers will be able to spend $125 on classroom supplies. Please let Kendra Pannell know if you have not received the email by Friday, April 1st or follow the instructions found in the FAQ below.
