Workers' Compensation
Workers compensation is a benefit program that provides medical and income benefits, and in certain circumstances, rehabilitation to an employee injured on the job.
Eligibility Requirements
Employees are eligible starting on the first day of employment. Any injury or illness arising out of the course of employment is by definition and on-the-job injury. Claims for injury during breaks, lunch, or personal activity may not be compensable.
Employee Responsibilities
Employees must notify a supervisor immediately. Even if you do not want to seek treatment, you must notify in writing immediately. If you wait longer than 30 days to report an injury, you may lose your benefits.
Employees must be made aware of the pink panels and they must chose the doctor they want to treat their injury. The Human Resources (HR) department must arrange all doctor appointments for Gordon county Schools to be responsible for the billing.
Workers' Comp Process
Step 1: Employee must notify a supervisor immediately and fill out a first report of injury. The supervisor will provide to the employee, upon notice, the following:

Posted Panel of Physicians
Step 2: Employee will select from the panel of physicians, their choice of doctor.
Then, the supervisor will notify the HR designee who will then arrange the doctor’s appointment.
