A group of students stand together for a photo

CALHOUN, GA - Students from the classroom of Mr. Chase Coots at Red Bud Middle School have earned accolades for their outstanding achievement in the American Legion Auxiliary National Poppy Poster contest. Over the course of the 2022-2023 academic year, these young artists collaborated to craft a compelling poster entry that stood out among their peers.

The poster designed by Mr. Chase Coots' class not only secured a victory at the 7th District level but also achieved a remarkable first place triumph at the state level, as announced in June.

Their entry also advanced to the national competition, where it garnered notable recognition. Although the students' poster claimed a place among the top contenders, the ultimate winning position was secured by the state of Louisiana. Nevertheless, this remarkable achievement stands as a testament to the dedication, skill, and collaborative spirit exhibited by the students of Red Bud Middle School.

Gordon County Schools is immensely proud of these students and their teachers and commends them for their outstanding representation of our school and community on a national platform.
