Breakfast and Lunch at NO COST for 24-25

Gordon County Schools is proud to announce that all students will be provided breakfast and lunch at no cost for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Children need healthy meals to learn. Gordon County Schools offers healthy meals every school day at no charge to students, and we can now provide that for all children next school year. Our food service receives support from the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

By participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and eliminating the need for meal applications, Gordon County Schools will reduce administrative and printing costs. Families also benefit from the elimination of completing and submitting meal applications.

School lunch is critical to student health and well-being, especially for low-income students—and ensures that students have nutrition they need throughout the day to learn. Research shows that receiving free or reduced-price school lunches reduces food insecurity, obesity rates, and poor health. This provision will help to remove any stigma or concerns about inaccessibility to healthy food options during the school day.
