Gordon County Schools students showed continued improvement on the 2024-2025 Georgia Milestones assessments with many scores above state average.

The Georgia Department of Education released a press statement today explaining that Georgia student scores increased or held steady in six of the seven math assessments, five of six science and social studies assessments, and two of seven English language arts assessments. The percentage of students reading at or above grade level increased in five of seven grade levels.

Gordon County Schools student scores were above the state average in the percentage of students who scored Developing, Proficient, or Distinguished Learner on the Georgia Milestones in several key areas: 4th–8th grade math, 5th–8th grade ELA, 8th grade science and social studies, Biology, U.S. History, and Algebra I. Lexile reading scores were also above the state average for 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th grades.

Additionally, Gordon County Schools saw district-wide growth in 3rd–5th grade math, 5th grade science, 6th–8th grade math, 8th grade science and social studies, as well as high school growth in Biology, U.S. History, American Literature, and Algebra I.
