Calhoun, GA - Gordon Central High School (GCHS) student, Lindsey Lowrance, has been awarded a 2021-22 National Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award from College Board® for her academic achievements and outstanding performance on AP® exams.

Used by colleges to identify academically competitive, underrepresented students; the National Recognition Program grant this prestigious academic honor to students that have a 3.5 GPA or higher, excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10, or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams; and are African American or Black, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous, and/or attend school in a rural area or small town.

Students identified as eligible for the recognition program are invited to apply during their sophomore or junior year of school and are awarded during the next school year. Students receive their awards in time to include them in both college and scholarship applications.
