Georgia’s State Superintendent of Schools, Richard Woods, visited Gordon County Schools today.

Superintendent Woods met with all Belwood Elementary School’s fourth-graders and answered their questions about his role in the government. He then presented each student with their own autographed, pocket-size U.S. Constitution book, which also includes the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

The State Superintendent also took time to meet with teachers, students, and BES staff to discuss overcoming the challenges presented by the pandemic and his vision for the future of education in Georgia.

Joining Superintendent Woods was Gordon County Schools Superintendent Kimberly Fraker, State Representative Matt Barton, Gordon County Board of Education Chair and Vice Chair Charlie Walraven and Bobby Hall, and Belwood Elementary’s Principal and Assistant Principal Monica Holt and Matt Fox.
