6th - 8th Grade Spring Basketball opportunities with the AMS coaches are listed below.
These opportunities are for current 6th and 7th grade students at Ashworth Middle School and current 5th grade students from Gordon County feeder schools (Tolbert, Swain, Belwood, or Red Bud) who will be 6th graders during the 2026–2027 school year.
• Lady Warrior Basketball Spring Open Gym is May 4th, 5th, 6th after school until 5:30
• Summer Basketball (for dates, see the back of this paper)
• Team Try-Outs are in October. The Date is TBD
Information:
• Forms must be completed at www.rankone.com to be eligible for any of the activities listed above
• Bring a water bottle of any kind with a lid or cap. (It can be just a regular bottle of water)
• Wear athletic clothes and hair needs to be pulled back or put up
• During open gym the Coaches will be teaching fundamental basketball skills and knowledge of the game
• During all activities, parents, family, and friends are NOT allowed so the girls will feel comfortable and focused on what is being asked of them.

These Summer Camp opportunities are for CURRENT 3rd grade and 4th grade students from Ashworth feeder schools (Tolbert, Swain, Belwood, and Red Bud) these students WILL BE 4th and 5th grade students during the 2026-2027 school year.
Summer basketball Camp:
• Ashworth Team sponsored camp for grades K-8th is June 10 &11. (See Camp flyer on AMS website and Facebook page.)
• Students will have opportunities to learn drills and skills from Ashworth Coaches.

Coming off a successful area meet, Junior Martinez competed at the Georgia State Track and Field Championship meet on Saturday, 4/25! He placed 8th overall and medaled in the 800m run. He set a new PR of 2:08, an impressive accomplishment! Junior’s hard work and dedication to the sport has made a positive impact on his fellow teammates, and we are proud of his success this season! 🎉 🏅





The AMS 8th grade dance is Saturday, May 2, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10. Students must have a signed permission form to attend. See Ms. Savanna Haynes for a form.

The Ashworth Track and Field team competed in the area meet at Darlington on Friday, 4/24. Boys' team placed 3rd overall while the girls' team placed 4th. Both teams put it all out there, and we are very proud of all their hard work this season! Here are the highlights:
Alysa Garland placed 3rd overall in the 200m dash and set a new PR of 29.80.
Da'Naziah Harrison placed 5th overall in the 200m dash and set a new PR of 30.27.
Alyssa Cooper placed 4th overall in the 400m dash and set a new PR of 1:11.
Lilly Thompson set a new PR in the 400m dash with a time of 1:12.
Aurianah Harris placed 3rd overall in the 1600m run and 800m run with new PRs of 6:08 and 2:46.
Rihanna Aguilar won the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.88.
Tyler Hernandez placed 4th overall in the 400m dash with a time of 59.65.
Raylan Stuart set a new PR in the 400m dash with a time of 1:04 and placed 3rd in the High Jump with a jump of 5'0".
Junior Martinez won the 1600m run and 800m run with times of 4:59 and 2:12. In addition, Junior Martinez competed at the Georgia State Track and Field Championship in the 800m run and ran a time of 2:08.
Landon Romero placed 4th in the 800m run with a time of 2:26 and set a new PR in the 1600m run with a time of 5:23.
Boys' 4x100m team of Grantland Klaas, Bentley Bogue, Landon Lowrance, and Tyler Hernandez placed 3rd overall.
Boys' 4x400m team of Junior Martinez, Landon Romero, Bentley Bogue, and Tyler Hernandez won their event overall.





🥎 Softball tryouts will be on May 5th and 6th, at 3:45 to 5:30.
📍 We will meet at the AMS Cafeteria.
📝 You must have a physical on file and RankOne information completed. Scan the QR code for the physical forms and RankOne instructions.
👟 All players must come properly equipped for the tryouts: Cleats, tennis shoes (just in case we have to go inside), Glove, Bat, Mask, Helmet, etc.
